Given that the "." in version numbers is a number separator, not a
decimal point, we could just move to 0.10, 0.11, 0.12, and so forth,
with 0.10.1 and 0.10.2 being bugfix releases if necessary.  Most tools
I know of will correctly sort "0.10" as being after "0.9", otherwise
they would not be able to correctly handle "1.10" being after "1.9".
