Hi all,

We've a wonaby ZDP : http://zdp.zope.org/FolderTom
(but nobody is capable or has time to get this project running at the time!)

Due to heavy duties, vacations, only few people can help and thus ZDP
reduced to 2 categories : ZBook & ZQR. (Natural selection, people who wanted
to help, wanted to work on these topics)... other topics will reappear,...
as soon as we've more persons and... a tool...

You can find the status at : http://zdp.zope.org/ZBookStatus

ZDP will probably move (for now) to the ZDP account at zope.org

Who's working?

We've ZQR :

Brian Hooper
David Kankiewicz
Stephan Richter

We've ZBook :
Editors: Ute (ute@idirect.com) , Brian
Writors: Kamon (kamon.ayeva@bureauveritas.com), Dody (dody_g@eles.com)
Designer: savvas (fiftybmg@operamail.com)
Coördinator (Trying to get things in place): Tom
(tom.deprez@uz.kuleuven.ac.be)

You can find a possible structure for ZBook at
http://zdp.zope.org/ZBookStatus/zcl_stx
Somebody who likes a topic of it, just let ZDP-list know that you're working
on it. Publish now and then some drafts on the list and to the ZBookStatus
page and ask for an editor, ...

WEEKLY NEWS: I took the work on me to make a weekly news. At the moment, I'm
collecting information about who's able to work and what he/she's doing.
Soon you all got the first WEEKLY NEWS :-)!

HOT NEWS: DC has just published some interesting information on the zdp-list
http://www.zope.org/pipermail/zdp/1999-October/000919.html

NEW MEMBER: Rik Hoekstra (which is a very good fish we took in :-) Rik, I
suggest you dig into http://zdp.zope.org/ZBookStatus and choose what you
want to do :-).

NON-MEMBERS: Please, if you want to help, be sure you have some spare time
to actually help.
MEMBERS: If you want to get out for a while, let us know! It's no problem,
we all understand this, everybody has a lot of work these days.

DRAFTS: At the moment structured text and plain text are used. This because
it allows everybody to make a draft. Nobody has to know of much rules for
writing some text. The intention is, when the draft is finished (final
release), it is taken into ZBook. I think it's up to the editors on how they
want to present the information then...(but! Needs to be easy to create,
easy to convert to other formats (eg PDF)) , but that's something for later
on... first we need drafts.... OK, if someone finds a really good way for
presenting the final drafts he/she can propose it to us (like DC suggestion:
DocBook). BUT! I propose to first use plain or structured text! OR something
which is as easy as they are.

Regards, Tom.
