Usage of <!-- * --> is deprecated.
<dtml-var *> is the correct way.

When documenting in "html", it is ok to use:

&lt;dtml-var sequence-item&gt;

If you use the "code" document type (for example for
Snippets), then you can use:

<dtml-var sequence-item>
