I just checked that part. Currently it is as I expected: There is no concept
of nested portals, as the core component for the review process, the
catalog, does only filter for roles, not "roles at folderX". Any reviewers
in any subfolders will get all the reviewable items. I tested with the
"Slave User Folder" product, as I didn't get local roles to have any effect.
I'm not even sure after my recent experiments if they still work in Zope ...

A "standard" local user folder in the subfolders will also not work. The
login tool seems to only authenticate agains the main acl_users folder ...
