[Zope-CMF] Usernames without spaces

Hello,

I have been thinking about this thing for a while and I think it's about
time that someoene either tells me it's a feature or a bug:
Username in CMF can contain spaces ??

Usernames are presented in the URL.
They are used when you add an external file or image.

They should not contain spaces.

Now I want to implement a function that strips spaces and other
characters that shouldn't be in an username.

But I think this should be a part of CMF ... or is it just me that finds
this anoing ?

Is there anyone out there who already has a function that does this
little trick ?
