From what I can gather CMF Topics are used with items that have
already been categorized.

The great thing about the DL is the hierarchical nature of the index
and the way it indexes document. The topic chooser is a nice touch as
well. The great thing about the CMF is the workflow, skins,
membership etc. My aim is to have a content management system where
uploaded document are indexed, categorised by the user using the
topic chooser and then organised throughout the site based on their
category. All this will be controlled by the CMF security. Where
appropriate some document will run along a workflow.

So far I don't understand totally how the DL (or the CMF :-)) works.
When I figure out how to "make a declaration to allow you to add
TopicIndexRoot outside a document library", will it use the same
catalog or vocabulary as the CMF?

Many thanks,

Sion
