Well then there is the possibility - for a Zope company to take the 
responsibility and give the buyer a competitive price and also ride with the
possibility of small fees in the future, compared to the mighty hefty sums that
big players can take for software upgrades. 

But usually the buyer - goverment or company - is not buying a product, but the
whole product -- including everything from start to finish: maintenance,
development, tarining etc. And they are paying for their peace of mind and
convenience. This especially true in cases, where companies have outsourced most
of their IT-staff and are not keen on developing inhouse talent. However there
is no problme, other than size and resources, for a Zope company to deliver the
whole service too... easily.

But there is a catch. Whatever you promise for open source solutions to do, you
should also deliver. And if no-one else is going to do it, then the burden is on
you.
