In Brief:
Is there any easy/standard way to exclude from indexing document in certain
state?

Detailed:
I am working on workflow in which documents (Archetype content types) get
archived at the publishing time so when reviewer publishes content, copy of
it goes into the archive (another folder within Plone site). Now problem is
that I don't need/don't want to show archived copies in search results. So I
want to be able to navigate/link to them (archived copies) but not to have
them in portal_catalog.

I know there's PloneStaging/CMFStaging which does have versions but it has
it's own drawbacks (namely staging works only for CMF content types and
doesn't work for python scripts, ZPT etc.) so I don't want to implement it
right now. Except there's a quick receipie to strip Staging to do just
versioning (I still need to have access to older versions for external users)
