Julien's original message included a traceback showing the ConflictError
being raised out of 'commit', which makes it a write conflict.  Given
the type of request, some kind of session activity seems like the
culprit.  The other possibility is that the DirectoryView machinery is
actually writing back to its ZODB surrogate (which would be a bug).
