Plone 2.5 is coming out soon and I was asked to cut a CMF 1.6.1
release. However, to preserve sanity, I will do a beta first, as
always. This beta will be cut tomorrow, with the final version
shipping a week from now.

Since I know that many of the people involved in making Plone
releases are on this list, I'd like to declare a policy decision: If
you need a final release when there is no beta cycle for that version
going on already you should provide 2 weeks notice. First of all, the
release manager may not be available the same day you ask. Secondly,
no final release without a beta, and the beta should be at least a week.

I'd like to extend the same policy to other dependent products,
specifically PAS, for which a beta will be cut tomorrow as well.
