[Zope-dev] ZODB3 split up and packaging question

Hello,

Since version 3.11, ZODB3 now depends on persistent, BTrees, ZODB and
ZEO. In Debian, there is currently ZODB3 3.9.7 package, named
python-zodb. However, python-persistent 4.0.8 has recently been
uploaded and of course its contents conflicts with python-zodb 3.9.7
(which also ships "persistent" module).

One solution which has been suggested is to remove "persistent" module
from python-zodb and make python-zodb (3.9.7) depends upon
python-persistent (4.0.8) instead. After running (legacy) Unit Tests of
python-zodb "persistent" with python-persistent installed and checking
the changes between these versions, I don't think there would be any
issue, could anyone confirm?

Thank you very much in advance!

Cheers,
