[Zope] Can't start server

You need to compile Python with threads enabled to run the Zope2 ZServer stuff. Something like
./configure --with-thread
in the source tree of your Python distribution. 

Note that you can get binaries of the Zope distribution which have Python correctly compiled up (it's in the directory bin/python and lib/python1.5 under the Zope src tree).
