[Zope] ZSQL question

Is there a way to access the updated value in an auto_incrementing field
when performing an INSERT to MySQL.  It is possible to do a SELECT after
an INSERT, but it is inefficient and MySQL does return the
auto_increment value, I just can't find a way to access it inside zope
