[Zope] Servlets anyone?

Note that mod_jserv for Apache works in a very PCGI-like way; amodule
inside Apache talks some simple protocol to a long-running Java
process.  Speculating wildly, it should be possible to throw away
mod_jserv, re-implement the protocol, and talk directly to the
long-running process.  We have numerous things implemented as
servlets, so I've thought about this a bit, but haven't done any
serious work on it.
