[Zope] how to set permissions on zope objects?

i have created a few odjects in Zope and i need them to work for everybody.
right now only the superuser (me) can use them. i have tried to change the
permissions but even though the permissions look ok it doesn't work. maybe i
just don't understand the permissions. what do they have to be set to to
make the objects available to all? also, inheritance doesn't seem to be
working on anything. why?
