[Zope] running frozen ZServer standalone

I'm pretty much giving up on finding an old Bobo for Medusa. My last
chance seems to be Zope. (After that it's only going back to Apache und
Perl).

1) Is it possible to freeze ZServer and running it standalone? (It's
   no problem with Medusa).

2) If yes, what are the caveats? Is there really no way for it to
   support standard CGI?

3) Can I run it nonblocking if using a Python with thread support
compiled in? Will freeze retain the ./configure --with-thread?

4) Does anyone have a recipe for extracting just the ZServer relevant
parts from a Zope distribution? I'm running short on time, so there's
   no time for poking around.

TIA,

Eugene
