after an eventful weekend, and comments from others, here's the revised

i hope others help me make this better.  some terms, definitions, reasons i
don't explain/comment because i don't know, or i can't really word it.  i'll
try and mine some def, terms, reasons from other howtos/mailinglist.

is it now presentable to the unsuspecting world?
