[Zope] xml-rpc authentication with loginmanager?

I have seen the additions some have suggested to use basic authentication
through xml-rpc(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zope/message/59116), but so
far I have bone-headed all my efforts to do the same through LoginManager
with a SQL back-end.

Any advice from the zope experts out there?
