[Zope] Upgrading to 2.6.0 on SuSE 7.3

I don't seem to be able to get any version to run. It's not clear how to
build and install Zope from either the prebuilt tarball or the source
tarball. All I want to do is have a /usr/local/zope installation, I suspect
it's possible from the source, but it's not clear how to do so. The
doc/INSTALL.txt is kind of cryptic. \

Is this even the right list for this? Sorry for all the questions but I'm
getting frustrated. Thanks.

Tom.

That's what I've ended up doing. I built Python 2.1.3 and I'm building the
newly released 2.6.1 from source since prebuilt version wouldn't run for me.

You will have much better success installing zope from the tarball on
SuSE. You will also be required to install python 2.1.3. This is not
optional as zope 2.6.x will crash with python 2.1.2. You will find it
best to install python 2.1.3 and zope 2.6.x in new directories leaving
your current insallation alone so that you can go back to your original
configuration in the event something goes wrong during you migration.
