1. DTML can be used to generate output that isn't valid HTML/XML (e.g. if
you have a standard "confirmation email" or standard email invoice you send
out, you might write a DTML template for said email).

2. Practicality. There are some interesting products that are built with
DTML. If you want to customize them, you might need to learn DTML.
