You need to be more precise. Are you using dtml  or zpt?

dtml:
<tr bgcolor="<dtml-if sequence-odd>blue</dtml-if>">

zpt:
<tr tal:attributes="bgcolor python:test(repeat['item_name'].odd(), 
'blue', '')">
