I don't think there's anything we can do about this. There's tons of
code in the wild which passes "invalid" index names into queries. For
example "show_inactive" in CMF. With the latest queryplan integration it
is actually a feature to be able to use arbitrary additional query
arguments to force different plans for similar queries.
